Active-duty Army service member wins $1.3M playing lottery

PITTSBURGH (Gray News) – An active-duty military member in Pennsylvania hit the jackpot and won more than $1.3 million playing the lottery online.
Christopher L. of Beaver County was given a check for $1,351,472 in the Pennsylvania Lottery’s Pittsburgh office on Tuesday.
Christopher said he and his family had moved to the area just a month before winning.
“It was a huge surprise,” he said.
He said he decided to try the Pennsylvania Lottery and kept going until he hit the jackpot.
“I went and told the wife, and of course, she didn’t believe me,” he said.
After he showed her the proof of the winnings, he said she became much more excited.
“This is my face all the time,” he said in a subdued manner. “This is my excited face.”
Christopher said he wanted to thank the lottery and everyone who s his winnings, including his family.
“I get to them and hopefully they’ll have a brighter future with the winnings,” he said.
