Tonight & Thursday: We will stay dry tonight, but Thursday will have more clouds and a slight rain chance. While chances in St. Louis are low at 20% because the rain is fighting dry air, a shower may sneak into the metro during the afternoon. Chances are better southwest of the metro for some showers. We will have mostly cloudy skies and still a warm day in the 80s.
Friday: Rain and storm chances return from Friday into the weekend along with some more intense humidity. This wet weather will be tied to an upper-level weather disturbance rather than a strong front at the surface. Typically, these kinds of systems pose a lower threat of severe thunderstorms, but they can drop locally heavy downpours and produce some brief, strong wind gusts. We certainly don’t expect continuous wet weather as we head into the weekend, but we want you to be prepared for periods of showers and storms. Friday’s chances are highest, but we could see some rain linger Saturday and possible on Sunday. Rain and storm chances for Father’s Day specifically have come down a bit. We’ll see if this trend continues.
