SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Gray News) - Two children were hurt after a pony-drawn cart hit a tractor-trailer, according to authorities.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a 10-year-old girl was driving a pony-drawn cart with a 7-year-old boy in the enger seat.

The pony “became startled,” causing the cart to crash into a tractor-trailer, according to WGAL.

The 7-year-old boy suffered head trauma and was taken to the hospital “due to the severity of his injuries,” according to troopers. The girl suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital, according to WGAL.

Authorities said the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The condition of the pony was not released, according to WGAL.
