St. Louis City officer injured trying to interrupt dangerous drivers

A St. Louis police officer was injured in a crash early Monday morning.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis Metropolitan Police officer was injured while trying to stop dangerous drivers overnight.

SLMPD said the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the area of I-270 and Riverview. Police say officers responded to a call for cars driving dangerously and doing donuts.

As officers interrupted the dangerous drivers, a Chrysler 300 struck a police SUV head-on. Police said an officer suffered minor injuries.

Demarco Moore, 22, is charged with one count of aggravated fleeing a stop or detention and one count of property damage.

According to police, the damage to the police vehicle exceeded $750.
