Friday coffee cart a hit at local elementary school
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Students at Craig Elementary run a coffee cart on Friday mornings.
The $1 spent on a cup of coffee goes towards field trips and local charities. It gives the students a chance to put the lessons learned in the classroom to use.
“The coffee cart is a real-life way to practice that, with their teachers, and then hopefully them practicing in a structured setting in a real-life scenario... then that can help generalize it for their peers and on the playground and stuff like that helping them initiate conversations,” said Megan Werner, a speech-language pathologist at the school.
The coffee cart also gives teachers a different way to interact with their students outside of the classroom.
