High school students rebuilding pickup truck
WENTZVILLE, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Students at Holt High School in Wentzville are rebuilding a 1971 Chevrolet pickup truck.
Matt Fox saw a picture of the truck sitting in a barn in Warren County, so he bought it. The industrial tech teacher said his class started the project a year ago.
“We decided to do this to give the boys some hands-on experience that might be helpful in the real world when they leave this class,” he said.
Fox has invested a lot of his own money in the truck to get his students excited about learning something new. He said the plan is for it to be finished by the end of the school year, and then he will sell it to recoup some of the money, giving the rest to the program to buy additional equipment.
